Collapsed building in Osun: Two trapped, rescued – Police

Osun State Police Command has revealed that two persons were rescued in the building that collapsed in the Sabo area of Osogbo, the state capital

In a statement by the command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, on Monday, he disclosed that during rescue operations mounted by security agencies, it was discovered that only two persons were trapped under the rubble of the one-storey building.

It would be recalled that one-storey building collapsed on Sunday morning, July 14, 2024, around the Sabo area of Osogbo

Governor Ademola Adeleke had in a reaction through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, warned developers and residents against construction of houses without approved building plans.

The initial report on the number of trapped victims was not certain as the spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in the state, Adeleke Kehinde gave the figure at five persons.

She said, “The said building collapsed at about 07:30 hrs today Sunday, 14th July, 2024 entrapping 5 people
