IEDPU, IEYDA Must Rise to Defend Ilorin Emirate Sons and Daughters Against Alleged Injustice at Kwara State Polytechnic

Recent reports have surfaced alleging the dismissal of six indigenes of the Ilorin Emirate from Kwara State Polytechnic.

These individuals were reportedly relieved of their duties based on unfounded accusations of political affiliations or sympathies, with no consideration for their qualifications, contributions, or dedication.

Among those affected are:
1. Nafiu Toyin Abdulkadir (Social Development Department) from Ubandawaki Ward, accused of being a personal assistant to Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

2. Mutiat Agaka (Crime Management Department) from Magaji Ngeri Ward, reportedly targeted for her family ties to Engr. Kale Kawu.

3. Abubakar Saadu (Institute of Technology) from Egbejila, accused of sympathy toward Waziri.

4. Prince Abdulkadir Gambari, an applicant of the Emir of Ilorin, among others.

These dismissals, allegedly politically motivated, have left many questioning the fairness and integrity of the process. The accusations against these individuals lack proof, yet their careers and livelihoods have been jeopardized based on perceived political leanings.

This is not merely a personal issue for those affected; it is an affront to the pride and dignity of the Ilorin Emirate as a whole. Such actions, if left unchecked, set a dangerous precedent for the marginalization and suppression of a community’s voice.

Where are the organizations entrusted with defending Ilorin’s interests, such as the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) and the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA)? Where are the voices of good conscience within the administration? Why has silence prevailed in the face of such alleged injustices?

The time has come for the people of Ilorin Emirate to stand united against what many perceive as a wave of targeted oppression. These actions are not just against individuals; they threaten the unity and strength of an entire community.

Let justice and fairness guide our institutions and administration. Let us not allow perceived tyranny to undermine the spirit of our Emirate. It is time to say, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
