New Face of Ilorin -Accolades for Gov AbdulRazaq As Visitors Laud Urban Renewal Projects.

As Nigerians traveled across states to celebrate the Christmas season, visitors to Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, have expressed satisfaction at the city’s transformation under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration.

The new beautiful sights which caught their attention attracted commendations for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on his sustained efforts to reposition the state capital to it’s original masterplan which birthed the current infrastructure development.

Faith Awofadeju, who traveled from Kano to Ilorin for the festivities, expressed delight at the city’s improved road network but added that the development should also be extended to other parts of the state capital.

She noted, “Ilorin is improving and better in terms of the roads and everything; it is better than before. The places I have visited are neat, and the government is trying its best.The ongoing infrastructure development should however be extended to other parts of the state capital.”

At different interview,Engr. Onoja Olushola in his observation also commended the progress made in urban renewal but urged the government to complete ongoing projects.

“It is a great improvement, but we are still expecting to see the finishes. We wish them more effort,” he remarked.

Similarly, Abiodun Babatunde, a visitor from Ibadan, praised the city’s transformation and shared his experience navigating the new infrastructure.

“There is so much work going on, like infrastructure. Even this post office area is very different—I almost got lost yesterday wondering if I was still in Ilorin. The governor is trying; he has done a lot of work. However, I believe these new developments will bring rules, like no parking, which residents should follow. The governor should do more because people still expect more from him,” he said.

Mr. Adebisi Sunday, who traveled from Lagos, however acknowledged the challenges posed by the economic situation but appreciated the state’s ongoing developments.

“We thank God for the development taking place in Kwara State. Despite the economic challenges, there are visible improvements that benefit citizens. I urge motorists to drive carefully and observe safety precautions. To the government, we know you are trying, but you can still do more. We pray for our governor that God will continue to help him to do more for the people,” he advised.

Femi Raphael, who arrived from Abuja for the celebrations, also lauded the urban renewal projects for their potential economic benefits.

He stated, “The governor’s efforts in infrastructure are commendable and will positively impact the citizens’ lives.”

As residents and visitors celebrate the season, the call for sustained development and affordability in Kwara State remains a common sentiment among many.
