Point of Correction: APC rigs all 16 LGAs, 193 Wards in Kwara State Local Government Elections

By: Abdulkadir Shaffi Idowu

The people’s voices won’t be silenced! After five years of mismanaging the local government, it’s unacceptable to expect Kwarans to support handpicked candidates. The overwhelming rejection of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and APC in the polls clearly shows the people’s dissatisfaction.

Offa Local Government saw no elections on Saturday, yet Governor Rahman’s camp hastily announced APC’s victory. This move has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about potential electoral irregularities.

Despite the people of Kwara State vigorously defending their votes, KWSIEC allegedly manipulated the outcome in favor of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Kwara APC Party.

Baba Okanla, who once upheld integrity as a teacher by combating exam malpractices, has surprisingly become embroiled in electoral malpractice allegations as KWASIEC Chairman, denying Kwarans their rightful voice.

Dear esteemed members of the Kwara State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), including state and local executive council members, devoted supporters, and loyal party faithfuls, I extend my deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to all PDP members who showed up strong on Saturday across the 16 local governments, particularly in Kwara Central, for the local government elections.

Your dedication and participation not only made September 21st’s election a resounding triumph but also reinforced our shared commitment to upholding our community’s values and vision.

PDP members, your hard work and perseverance have been the backbone of our progress. Embodying the aspirations of our people, let’s march forward together, resilient and united, to build a brighter future for Kwara in 2027.

To the wonderful people of Kwara, thank you for trusting PDP with your votes, securing impressive margins statewide. As we build on this momentum, let’s remain united, focused, and committed to shaping a brighter future for our beloved Kwara in 2027.
