2019 “O TO GE” Was a tool of propaganda, we won’t stop criticizing APC govt for abandoning Kwara South- Chief Gbenga Awoyale
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara South, Chief Gbenga Awoyale has described the 2019 “O To Ge” slogan as a grand tool of propaganda that was carefully used to deceive Kwarans.
Awoyale stated this during the official decamping ceremony of the Chairman of the APC Elders Caucus, Chief J.B. Ayeni, who led thousands of APC members across Ekiti Local Government Area to join the PDP.
The mammoth defection, held in Ekiti LGA, also had in attendance a former ranking Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator S.S. Ajibola, alongside other prominent party leaders, women and youth groups.
Speaking at the event, Awoyale lamented the deplorable state of infrastructure in Kwara South, noting that the APC-led government has abandoned the region.
“2019 O To Ge was a tool of propaganda. Today, the reality is clear for everyone to see. Look at our roads — from Eruku to Ajuba, from Isapa to Osi, from Obbo-Ile to Oke Opin, they are all impassable and abandoned. Our people can no longer transport their farm produce. Our students, traders and farmers suffer daily due to bad roads,” he said.
“We won’t stop criticizing the APC-led Kwara Government for this gross neglect. Speaking out is not a crime, it is our duty to our people. No intimidation will silence us,” Awoyale added.
He welcomed Chief J.B. Ayeni, Senator S.S. Ajibola and the thousands of decampees into the PDP family, describing their decision as courageous and historic.
He further urged the new members to remain united and to throw their full weight behind all PDP candidates across all levels ahead of the general elections in Kwara State.
“The only shortcut to fixing these bad roads, securing our communities and ending this neglect is the return of PDP to power. Only PDP can restore Kwara,” he charged.
