Kwara PDP Holds Press Conference, Begins Party’s Registration and Revitalization on May 17th Across 16 LGAs.

The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the beginning of its membership registration and revalidation exercise across the sixteen local government areas of Kwara State.

The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party Chairman Hon Babatunde Mohammed has reaffirmed the party’s readiness to reclaim power in 2027, as it displayed its capacity during the last Local Government Election across the State.

Hon. Babatunde, gave the affirmation during a press conference held at the party’s State Secretariat located at No. 44 Pipeline Road, Ilorin, the State Capital.

The Party announced the beginning of its membership registration and revalidation exercise across the sixteen local government areas of Kwara State.

Hon. Babatunde, described membership registration as a pillar that the political party stands on. He disclosed that PDP membership is primarily obtained at the ward level and that the registration and revalidation exercise will be conducted at all 193 wards across the state.

He explained that the exercise is designed to accommodate fresh registrations for new members who are willing to join the PDP party and revalidation for existing members who seek to update their status in the party register for the issuance of their permanent membership cards.

To register, every entrant is expected to present their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) as valid identification. Those who do not have a PVC can also register, pending the time the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) opens its PVC registration portal. Trained registration officers stationed at various ward registration points will attend to all prospective and returning members. He said

Gentlemen of the press,

It is with a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the future of our dear state that we welcome you all to this important press conference.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara State Chapter, is pleased to formally announce the kick-off of its Membership Registration and Revalidation Exercise across all the 16 Local Government Areas of the state.

This grassroots membership drive, approved and coordinated by the State Working Committee of our party, is a direct response to the growing calls from patriotic Kwarans who are eager to be part of the #RescueKwara Project – an effort to restore our state to the path of inclusive governance, purposeful leadership, and shared prosperity as we match towards 2027.

As we are all aware, membership is the pillar on which every political party stands, and in our great party, membership is primarily obtained at the ward level. Accordingly, this registration and revalidation exercise shall be conducted at all the 193 wards across the state.

The exercise is designed to accommodate both: fresh registrations for new members who are willing to join our party, and revalidation for existing members who seek to update their status in the party register for the issuance of their permanent membership cards.

Let it be clearly stated that while the registration structure is anchored at the ward level, it shall enjoy active coordination at the local government, senatorial, and state levels to ensure effective monitoring and success of the exercise.

Our ward and local government registration officers have been trained and equipped with the necessary tools and materials to carry out this exercise effectively and efficiently. We are confident that the system put in place will ensure a smooth, transparent, and worthwhile registration process.

At the end of this exercise, Kwarans in diaspora who were not able to register physically will have the opportunity to do so on the registration portal on our website. In other words, for this initial stage, the online registration portal is only opened for physical registration and verification of members.

We are pleased to announce that the membership registration exercise will commence fully on Saturday, 17th May, 2025.

We therefore urge all our teeming supporters, admirers, and the general public to take advantage of this opportunity to join the only party that offers a clear vision, credible platform, and genuine promise to return Kwara State to an era where leadership served the people and prosperity was shared among all.
