Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has broken her silence following Senator Ned Nwoko’s recent allegations accusing her of drug addiction.
In a fiery statement posted on her social media, the actress denied the claims, accusing the lawmaker of manipulation, control, and abuse during their relationship.
“When I married you at 17, was I on drugs?” she wrote. “Why don’t you also tell them that your wives and ex-wives are on drugs? Can you be kind enough to explain why that is?”
Regina went on to allege that Nwoko once locked her up and forced doctors to inject her with drugs meant for people with bipolar disorder. She also claimed that he would often seize her phones for weeks because he disliked her maintaining close contact with her family.
“You’ve never seen me incoherent or lose control,” she added. “Every problem we had started when I no longer wanted you—whether sober or even high. Stop using the drugs narrative to create distraction. Tell people the truth.”
The actress also addressed the status of their marriage, revealing that no legal documents were signed between them.
“For the record, I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us,” she wrote. “We were never married in a court of law. Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”
Regina concluded her post by stating that whatever her ex-husband may have spent on her could never equal the value of the time, energy, and opportunities she sacrificed while with him.
“No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the value of the time I gave you — my prime years, my energy, and the career opportunities I sacrificed.”
As of press time, Senator Nwoko has not publicly responded to the actress’s explosive claims
