PRESS STATEMENT
RE: FALSE ALLEGATIONS ON DAN IYA’S INVOLVEMENT IN PARTY CONGRESSES ACROSS KWARA STATE
Our attention has been drawn to unfounded insinuations in some quarters suggesting that Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, the Dan Iya Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, has been sponsoring or supporting aspirants in the recently conducted party congresses across various local governments in Kwara State.
We wish to state categorically that these allegations are false, mischievous, and totally baseless. At no time did Dan Iya support, sponsor, or direct anyone to act on his behalf in any of the local government congresses held in the state.
For the avoidance of doubt, Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka is a principled leader who upholds the supremacy of the party and respects its directives. He neither acts nor directs anyone to act in contravention of party rules and collective decisions.
In addition, we categorically exonerate Alhaji Zulu Oloje, a major stakeholder in the Dan Iya Movement, from allegations of inducing delegates with ₦2 million. This is equally false and malicious. Alhaji Zulu Oloje is an experienced, committed, and loyal party man who understands the rules of the game and has always played strictly by the directives of the party leadership.
The Dan Iya Ngeri remains a friend to all and an elder who respects the rights of every party member. His overriding concern is unity, fairness, and the collective progress of Kwara State, not involvement in factional or divisive politics.
In this regard, Dan Iya calls on all party members and stakeholders across the state to embrace unity, justice, and fairness at all times. Grievances, where they exist, should be resolved through peaceful means and in deference to the constituted leadership of the party so that justice and equity can prevail.
As the battle ahead can only be won with unity and cohesion within the house, let us close ranks, strengthen our bonds, and work together for the common good of our party and our dear state.
Signed
