Kwara PDP Unveils Theme Ahead of Saturday’s State Congress; Sympathises with Victims of Insecurity

The Kwara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unveiled “Let’s Re-secure Kwara” as the official theme for its State Congress, holding tomorrow, Saturday September 27th, 2025. This theme is a direct and poignant response to the pervasive atmosphere of fear and the palpable decline in the security of lives and property that has gripped our state under the present administration of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. The choice of this theme underscores our deep concern for the welfare of every Kwaran and signals a decisive shift towards a future where safety and prosperity are guaranteed for all.

This critical theme has become necessary due to the tragic consequences of bad leadership that Kwara has been subjected to in the last six years under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The state is bleeding, crippled by poverty, hunger, and especially insecurity, which has shattered the dreams and livelihoods of countless families. It is a painful irony that while Kwara is receiving unprecedented federal allocations, there is absolutely nothing tangible on the ground to show for this huge financial inflow. The current government’s lack of foresight and political will to strategically manage the security architecture of the state has left our communities vulnerable to banditry and other violent crimes, eroding the peace we once enjoyed.

It is on this solemn journey to re-secure our beloved state that we extend our deepest sympathies to the residents across all Local Government Areas, particularly those in the frontline communities, who have borne the brunt of banditry and criminality. Their suffering is a stark reminder of the urgent need for a competent and compassionate government. The PDP, with its proven track record of developmental strides in Kwara’s past, remains the only party that can be trusted with power to restore security, hope, and sustainable development. We are poised to resecure Kwara, and this mission begins with the crucial first step of electing credible party executives at tomorrow’s congress.

We must, however, commend the relentless efforts of our security forces and the media, who have been striving under challenging circumstances to ensure Kwara is safe again. Their dedication is noted and appreciated. As the PDP family gathers to elect a team of executives who will, in turn, guide the party towards electing a visionary leadership in the coming primary elections. We are building a formidable movement dedicated to rescuing and resecuring Kwara. We believe in a collective effort to restore the state’s lost glory.

Therefore, we call on every well-meaning Kwaran to join this movement for a safer, more prosperous future. The task to re-secure Kwara is a collective responsibility, and it is one we must undertake together.
