My Two Kobo on Prof. Amana’s Laughable Radio Rant Against Dr. Saraki

Babaita Idris Olalekan A Concerned Kwara Youth.

Let me start by saying I am not one for politics of bitterness. But when I heard the audio of Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, or should I say, the self-styled Amana dragging the name of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki through the mud on SBS FM, I couldn’t help but shake my head and laugh. Laugh, not at the allegations which are empty, but at the sheer, breathtaking audacity of ingratitude.

Prof, with all due respect to your academic gown, what you exhibited was not analysis; it was an emotional outburst of a man who has bitten the hand that fed him and is now complaining about the taste.

You sat in that studio and swore that Dr. Saraki is secretly in bed with the APC. Me, I have just one simple question: Where is your proof? Or has your “professorship” now upgraded to spiritual sight, where you see secret alignments the rest of us cannot see? Dr. Saraki left the APC in broad daylight, with a clear statement of principle. He has not uttered one word of support for this federal government. Yet, you want us to believe your fairy tale because you said it on radio? Abeg, park well.

The funniest part of your joke was the one about contracts. So, if a company legitimately wins a bid, it now means the owner is a political spy? Prof, have you heard of the Companies and Allied Matters Act? Or is that not part of the courses you teach? By your logic, if a bakery owned by a PDP member sells bread to an APC member’s wedding, the baker is automatically an APC agent. It is that level of shallow thinking that makes people question the value of some of our “intellectuals.”

But let us move from the ridiculous to the downright shameless–the height of betrayal.

Everyone in Kwara politics knows the simple truth: You, Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, owe your current national visibility and position to Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki. After the 2019 elections, when others were lamenting, it was Saraki who pushed for you to become the DG of NILDS. That is the seat you sit on today, that is the salary you collect, that is the title you brandish. And this is how you repay him? With malicious gossip on a local radio station?

If you were a man of honour, you would have resigned from that appointment the very day you decided to become a vocal attack dog against your benefactor. But you want to have your cake and eat it–enjoy the comfort of the seat he gave you while spitting on the ladder that brought you up. That is not politics, Prof. That is character deficiency.

And let’s talk about this “Amana” title you are parading. The whole of Ilorin knows the real Amana Ngeri was bestowed by the Emir on a deserving soul. Your own version is the “Radio Amana”–a title you awarded yourself through constant microphone appearances. There is a difference between a crown given by a king and a paper crown from a birthday party. Know the difference.

Dr. Saraki is on the ground, meeting with PDP ward chairmen, reconciling factions, and planning for the future. He is building a legacy. What are you building, Prof? A catalogue of toxic broadcasts? While he is investing in youths, you are investing in spite.

My final word is to you, Prof: Stop embarrassing yourself. Focus on delivering at NILDS. If you have any real evidence of your claims, bring it forward. If not, have the decency to shut up and let Kwara progress. We, the young people, are wise to your game. We stand with Dr. Saraki–not out of blind followership, but because we have seen his work, felt his impact, and tested his integrity over time. Your bitter radio rant only makes us stand with him stronger.
