NUC Grants Operational License to Jimoh Babalola University, Ilorin as Hon Salihu Umar Hails Founder, Highlights Socio-Economic Impact

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially accredited Jimoh Babalola University, Ilorin, and presented it with an operational license to commence full academic activities.
The Executive Secretary of the NUC, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, presented the certificate to the institution’s founder, Mallam Jimoh Babalola, at the Commission’s headquarters in Maitama, Abuja. While making the presentation, Prof. Ribadu urged the university management to strictly adhere to laid-down academic procedures and uphold global educational standards.
Also present at the event was the Federal Commissioner representing the North Central Geo-Political Zone, Hon. Salihu Umar Agboola Balogun, who commended Mallam Jimoh Babalola for his unwavering commitment to educational development. He described the founder as “a man of high standards and discipline”, expressing confidence that his leadership would ensure the institution operates with excellence.
Hon. Balogun also praised the Kwara State Government, the university community, and education stakeholders for their collective efforts in achieving the accreditation milestone. He expressed optimism that Jimoh Babalola University would not only enhance the state’s educational landscape but also contribute significantly to the socio-economic growth of its host community.
He added that the establishment of the university would create new opportunities for learning, employment, and economic advancement within Ilorin and its environs.
