President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with heads of security agencies at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Security meeting is taking place barely 24 hours after the Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, resigned his appointment.
The security heads were led to the meeting by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede.
Also present are the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General W. Shaibu, Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke, and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral I. Abbas.
The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lt. General Akomaye Undiandeye, the Director-General, Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi, and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, are also in attendance.
It would be recalled that last Wednesday, Tinubu declared a nationwide security emergency in the wake of a spate of abductions, announcing measures including the recruitment of 20,000 additional police officers, the deployment of forest guards, and tighter protection of schools, churches and mosques in vulnerable areas.
