Asofin Rere 2027: POPOOLA Leads Other PDP Candidates to Hausa Communities in Offa
The momentum for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Offa Local Government received a major boost as the PDP Senatorial Candidate for Kwara South, Hon. Saheed Olamilekan Popoola, led other PDP candidates on a solidarity visit to Hausa Communities in Offa.
Hon. Popoola, who is popularly known as _Asofin Rere_, was accompanied by PDP stakeholders and candidates across the federal and state constituencies in what was described as a strategic engagement with one of the most organized and politically conscious communities in Offa.
The Hausa communities, who trooped out in large numbers to receive the PDP team, expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it is the first time in a long while that candidates of a major political party would come to seek their support directly and listen to their concerns.
Addressing the gathering, Popoola said his movement, Asofin Rere 2027, is anchored on equity, inclusion and responsive representation, assuring that under the PDP, no tribe, religion or community would be left behind.
“Offa is a home for all. The Hausa community has contributed immensely to the economic growth and peace of Offa. You are not visitors, you are part of us. When I get to the Senate, I will ensure your inclusion, your security and your welfare are protected,” Popoola said.
He introduced other PDP candidates on the entourage, urging the community to vote PDP all through, from President to House of Assembly, stressing that only a united vote can bring the desired change Kwara South yearns for.
“We have come as one team. Our governorship candidate, Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu (Kale Kawu), is a man of peace and technocratic competence. He will return peace to our unsecured regions and prosperity to our markets. This is why we want you to vote PDP from top to bottom,” he added.
Leaders of the Hausa Communities, including the Sarkin Hausawa, thanked Hon. Popoola and the PDP delegation for the honour, assuring them of their support and prayers ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They listed their challenges, including need for better trading environment, youth empowerment, and security, which Popoola promised to address when elected as Senator.
The visit ended with chants of “Asofin Rere!” and prayers for the success of the PDP in Kwara South and Kwara State at large.
Other PDP leaders present commended Popoola’s grassroots style, describing his continuous community-to-community engagement as the reason his acceptability continues to soar across Kwara South.
