In the Blink of an Eye, Saraki Transforms Suspended Mandate Market Porter, Hajia Ajara Jimoh, into a Multimillion-Naira Business Owner

The 8th President of the Nigerian Senate and former Governor of Kwara State, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has transformed the fortunes of a suspended Mandate Market porter in Ilorin, Hajia Ajara Jimoh, popularly known as Alabarun Hajia Ajara, by empowering her with a multimillion-naira business package designed to secure her economic independence.

The intervention, which marks a significant turning point in Jimoh’s life, goes beyond a conventional financial donation, as Saraki provided her with a fully equipped business outlet, a warehouse and goods worth millions of naira to enable her to establish a sustainable business.

In addition to the business empowerment package, the former Senate President also settled her outstanding accommodation debt accumulated over three years, thereby relieving her of a significant financial burden and providing her with an opportunity to concentrate on her new business.

It would be recalled that Hajia Ajara Jimoh recently attracted widespread public attention following the circulation of a viral video alleging that she had been suspended from working as a market porter at Mandate Market, Ilorin, over her political affiliation and support for Saraki and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.

The development generated public reactions and brought her personal and economic circumstances into the spotlight.

Following the controversy, Saraki intervened to provide her with a lasting means of livelihood, opting for a comprehensive business empowerment initiative rather than a one-off cash donation.

The empowerment package includes the provision of a shop and warehouse, payment of her outstanding three-year accommodation debt and the stocking of her new business premises with goods worth millions of naira.

The items were delivered to her new business location at Ile-Kolobo Compound, opposite Adangba Sawmill, Oju-Ekun-Sarumi, in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Speaking with Jimoh over the telephone during the delivery of the empowerment materials, Saraki urged her to make judicious use of the opportunity and resources provided, stressing the importance of commitment, dedication and proper management in building a successful business.

He encouraged her to regard the intervention as a fresh beginning and an opportunity to improve her economic circumstances, while assuring her of continued support as she settles into her new venture.

According to Saraki’s Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, the intervention reflects the former governor’s commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals and providing practical assistance to people confronted with challenging circumstances.

Abdulqadir explained that the initiative was deliberately structured to empower Jimoh economically by providing her with the necessary business infrastructure, facilities and startup capital to operate independently and build a sustainable source of income.

The intervention is expected to provide Hajia Ajara Jimoh with a fresh economic beginning, transforming her from a market porter into a business owner with the resources and facilities to pursue a more sustainable livelihood.
