Can Ajakaye, an unrepentant liar, stop being arrogant By Arc. Ayuba Musbau Kawu_
To Rafiu Ajakaye, lies are facts. He who chooses to challenge his lies will be met with his arrogance. He sees himself above every other person and wants everyone to believe his lies. His belligerence nature makes him unfit for the office he currently occupies while his ill-mannered approach, responsible for his arrogance, betrays the ‘Ustazhood’ he pretentiously displays.
For his arrogance, he’s not a “homegrown”. He was raised outside the state and may not have cultural stability and understanding to engage us. Hence, he might be pardoned for his ill-mannered approach as such is not known to Kwarans; from the North, Central and South. But his lies have no place within us. We will continue to challenge his lies and expose him for all to see.
As usual, His Excellency, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the President, Nigerian 8th Senate, has been served with his latest arrogance and uncult attitude while he was defending His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, over the former’s statement against the needless demolition of Hon Mashood Mustapha’s Crystal Place.
While Dr. Saraki is the Waziri Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate, Mal. Abdulrazaq is the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate and Hon. Mustapha is the Wakilin Ngeri of Ilorin Emirate; all traditional title holders of Ilorin Emirate which we, the Ilorites, hold in very high esteem. No matter our political differences, we will not have one Ajakaye, the ill-mannered liar, who is not one of us, disrespect any of them the way he did with Dr. Saraki.
His “brilliance” might have been exaggerated. Hence, he might have been triggered by the “Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq or Abdulrazaq” Dr. Saraki addressed his boss while registering his voice on the needless demolition of Crystal Place after doing the needful at the beginning of the message. To that effect, let me use this medium to educate him. While addressing his boss, Dr. Saraki started with “The State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq…” and continued. Subsequently, he addressed him with his Surname, “Abdulrazaq” or “Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq”, his full name. Any well exposed person would not have taken offense in this the way Ajakaye did which resulted in the way he, Ajakaye, decided to take “Dr”, which he deservedly earned, away from Dr. Saraki while pouring his arrogance.
Also, other factors can be considered as well. Firstly, it’s a common knowledge that Mal. Abdulrazaq does not have any Profesional qualification which Dr. Saraki would have used in addressing him. Secondly, history has it that both were, if not still, once friends. Meaning they are within the same “bracket”, age wise. If Ajakaye is as smart the way many thought he was, he would have set his records, if he had any, straight without being triggered the way he did because of his lack of understanding and exposure on the subject matter.
As usual, Ajakaye tried but failed in muddling his lies to change history. One of such attempts is how he hurriedly and erroneously painted the unfortunate Idi-Ape case. Because Ajakaye is not a “homegrown”, he might not know what played out then that resulted in such unfortunate scenario. Or he may be “too small” to remember it and failed to ask as a bad student of history that he is.
The case he referred to was the attack on security personnel that took place during that period that resulted in further attacks and counterattacks. It was during the height of the appointment of new Bàbà Isalẹ of Idi-Ape. The chosen one was appointed and was to be escorted to “Afin”, the place. It was during this process that a gun battle broke out between some gangs of civilians and security personnel in order to prevent installing the new Bàbà Isale by the gangs. One police man was shot-dead during this scenario. The following day, as warranted, security personnel left for Ìdí-Àpẹ for “raiding”. This was met with serious resistance by the same gangs and another gun battle erupted. This left unfortunate gun holes in some buildings in Idi-Ape up to this moment. This is what liar Ajakaye, whose name should rather be changed to “Ajaka-Irọ”, wanted us to believe as “Saraki’s razing of the Ìdí-Ape family home of his predecessor. What a shameless liar!.
The liar also talked about the now infamous pension law for Governors and also wanted to, as usual, change the history to make us believe it as “Saraki’s making”. What an heartless liar. For the record, the now infamous pension law was the brain birth of then Governor Ahmed Bola Tinubu of Lagos State and now President of Federal Republic of Nigeria before it spread to other states, Kwara State included.
There are numerous lies and uninformed claims in his outburst. Addressing them one after the other in this piece will be needless. Kwarans now know him for who he is; a mere arrogant liar.
From professional angle, let me try to help Ajakaye in understanding the concept of growth as it applies to Urbanization.
In order not to bore my readers with too much professional jargons, I will be treating the aspect of Urbanization that is appropriate to the subject matter which is Organic Growth in Urbanization. Organic Growth in Urbanization refers to the natural, gradual, and often unplanned expansion of cities through population increase, migration, and economic development. It is characterized by spontaneous growth driven by market forces and individual initiatives among others.
Barred Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, all Nigerian cities expressed and still expressing Organic Growth. This is due to many factors among which are our levels of education, sophistication, etc.
It’s good to note that even with the planned documents, master plans, to guide some of our cities, they still went through and still going through organic growth with the reasons already given. However, it’s very important that we try to improve on how growth pattern in order to meet up with the best countries of the world.
While trying to meet up, it will be needless and unintelligent to want to do so by destroying “us” as Kwara State Government led by Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is currently doing as in the case of needless demolition of Crystal Place, worthied hundreds of millions of Naira.
When trying to correct organic growth to reflect Compact or Sustainable growth, the smart ones all over the world look into the already developed areas holistically and maintain such developed areas that slightly or completely meet the planned map/master plan.
At this juncture, let’s look at what was demolished at the land that housed Crystal Place against what Ajakaye said was earmarked for the land. Crystal Place was a commercial place with lentable shops/offices which Town Planning approval was given to that effect with verifiable documents made available to the general public. Ajakaye’s narrative, in order hand, said the area was earmarked for Car parks without given any documents to back it up. To that effect, there are different types of car parks among which are commercial car park and public car park. A Commercial Car Park is a designated area where vehicles are parked for a fee, typically on a short-term basis. It is a business operation providing parking spaces to the public, often in urban areas.
A public Car Park is where cars are parked at Owner’s Risk with legal disclaimer indicating that vehicle owners park their vehicles at their own risk. It signifies that the car park owner/operator is not liable for any loss that may occur.
Unless Ajakaye’s documents yet to be made available say otherwise, having Comercial car park or Crystal Place will be considered “close” that wouldn’t warrant demolishing one for another by urban planners while reviewing the master plan as both will be generating revenue for the government. To this effect, demolition of Crystal Place was needless, unintelligent and a mere political vendetta as many already believe it to be.
