Former Kwara Commissioner, Adenike Harriet Adesida, Resigns from APC
A former Commissioner in Kwara State, Honourable Adenike Harriet Adesida has resigned her membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect.
Adesida announced her resignation in a letter addressed to the Kwara State Chairman of the APC through the party’s Ward Chairman in Ora Ward, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.
In the resignation letter titled “Notice of Resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC),” the former commissioner said her decision followed extensive consultations with her political associates, supporters, family members and business associates.
She explained that her decision was informed by the increasing difficulty of pursuing her political aspirations and fulfilling the expectations of the people who look up to her within her constituency under the APC platform.
According to her, the decision was necessary to pursue a political direction that better aligns with her convictions, aspirations and commitment to the people she represents.
Despite her departure from the party, Adesida expressed appreciation to APC leaders, members, supporters and well-wishers who supported her throughout her political journey.
She, however, maintained that her resignation would not affect her commitment to public service, stressing her determination to continue serving the people of Ora, Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara South and the state at large with integrity, courage and dedication.
Adesida previously served as Commissioner for Agriculture, Information and Communication, Solid Minerals Development, and Youth Development in Kwara State.
She has yet to disclose her next political destination following her resignation from the ruling party.
