Kwankwanso seeks FG intervention as floods ravage Maiduguri

A former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has called on the Federal Government to urgently intervene in the devastating floods that have ravaged Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

In a statement posted on the X platform Tuesday, Kwankwaso expressed deep concern over the plight of residents who have been displaced and affected by the rising water levels

He urged the government to provide immediate relief and support to those in need, including food, shelter, and medical care

Residents of Maiduguri are currently panicking over the flooding of Maiduguri Zoo, popularly referred to as Sanda Kyarimi Park located in the city centre.

The zoo which is located close to a waterway is currently flooded by water.

Kwankwaso also emphasised the importance of long-term solutions to prevent future flooding incidents
