Kwara 2027: APC Urged Not to Risk ‘Political Suicide’ by Backing Saliu Mustapha
The Kwara Citizens Movement for Ethical Politics and Good Governance is compelled, in the overriding public interest and in defence of truth, integrity, and the future of Kwara State, to raise a loud and urgent alarm over the dangerous political scheming currently being orchestrated by Senator Soliu Mustapha and his collaborators to manipulate the 2027 governorship process in Kwara State.
This is no longer politics.This is an attempt to deceive the Presidency.
This is an attempt to blackmail the leadership of the All Progressives Congress and hoodwink Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
This is an attempt to impose a deeply controversial and morally burdened candidate on the people of Kwara State through propaganda, financial inducement, and calculated misinformation.
We say clearly and unequivocally: Kwara State must not be sacrificed on the altar of deceit.
The APC must not commit political suicide and the people of Kwara State deserve better.
The Presidency deserves honesty and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq deserves a credible successor, not an adversary in disguise.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves genuine loyalty not opportunistic performance.
The question before Kwarans today is simple:
WHO REALLY IS SENATOR SOLIU MUSTAPHA?
Before the 2023 elections, what verifiable record of transparent enterprise, public service, or known economic contribution existed in his name?
What established business institution was publicly known and operational under his stewardship?
What visible industrial footprint existed in Kwara State under his leadership?
What legacy of employment generation or community development was associated with him before his sudden political rise?
How did he suddenly acquire the enormous financial war chest that served as the backbone of his politics of inducement, emergency philanthropy, and media propaganda in the run-up to the 2023 elections and currently?
Kwarans deserve answers!!! Nigerians deserve answers !!! and The Presidency deserves to know the truth.
It is no secret within political and financial circles that Senator Soliu Mustapha has long been linked to the network and patronage structure of former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele. The same Godwin Emefiele currently standing trial over grave allegations of financial misconduct, abuse of office, procurement fraud, and other weighty accusations.
The same Emefiele whose reckless and suspicious naira redesign policy plunged Nigerians into untold hardship.
The same Emefiele whose cash scarcity crisis nearly crippled businesses, families, and livelihoods.
The same Emefiele whose actions during the 2023 elections were widely interpreted as a deliberate attempt to frustrate and sabotage the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Nigerians have not forgotten, Kwarans have not forgotten and The Presidency must not forget.
How then can Senator Soliu Mustapha, an alleged ally and beneficiary of that same network, now claim to be a loyal foot soldier of President Tinubu?
How can a man who reportedly thrived politically and financially within circles hostile to Tinubu’s emergence now wrap himself in the garment of “Renewed Hope”?
Is this loyalty Or political convenience? How can the APC trust such a man? How can the President trust such a man? How can Kwara trust such a man?
Again, it is on record that Senator Soliu Mustapha was politically aligned with and reportedly served as a key operative in the presidential ambition of Rotimi Amaechi; one of the fiercest rivals of President Tinubu during the APC presidential primaries.
A man with whom he still maintains close personal, business and political ties with till date.
We must also raise serious concern over credible reports within political circles and pictorial evidences indicating that Senator Soliu Mustapha has been fraternising with Bukola Saraki, a leading opposition figure, in a manner that suggests the exchange of sensitive party information and internal strategic positions, while simultaneously positioning himself for leadership within the APC.
Notably, these interactions were reported well before public discourse emerged around broader opposition realignments at the national level. This raises fundamental questions about political stability, loyalty, and integrity, and underscores the urgent need for thorough scrutiny of any aspirant seeking to lead the APC in Kwara State.
So we ask:
At what point did he become loyal?
Before or after convenience demanded it?
Before or after ambition required it?
Before or after he saw a governorship ticket within reach?
Kwara people are not fools, We can see through this script.
We also remind the public that Senator Soliu Mustapha’s emergence as Senator in 2023 was largely aided by the goodwill, tolerance, and support of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the APC structure in Kwara State.
Yet, almost immediately after securing victory on the platform of the APC, he ferociously turned against the same political family that lifted him.
He began subtle and open acts of hostility. He openly commenced strategic moves to undermine the Governor with impunity.
He began plotting 2027 from day one.This is not loyalty. This is betrayal.
This is not leadership. This is ambition without conscience.
This is why the latest fraudulent and laughable endorsement by the so-called “Ilorin Emirate Political Advisory Council (IEPAC)” must be exposed for what it is; a desperate political scam.
That group is widely seen as a contrived political tool allegedly assembled to create false legitimacy and mislead the Presidency.
It does not represent the Emirate neither does it represent its traditional institution, its Ulama or the masses.
It is political theatre, desperation, propaganda, manipulation and despicable fraud in moral form.
We therefore state emphatically that No amount of sponsored endorsements can erase a shady history. No amount of rented crowds can manufacture credibility. No amount of emergency philanthropy can rewrite truth and certainly No amount of media propaganda can purchase integrity.
Kwara 2027 is too important; The APC must field a candidate with:
Unquestionable loyalty, transparent antecedents, a known history of enterprise, verifiable record of service, genuine grassroots acceptance, integrity under scrutiny, respect for party leadership, respect for the Governor, respect and loyalty for the President and ultimately genuine respect for the people.
Anything less would amount to political suicide.
We therefore call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the national leadership of the APC to immediately subject all aspirants to a rigorous integrity, loyalty, and background screening.
Kwara must not be handed to a man with unresolved questions hanging over his head. The future of our state is too precious and the legacy of the President is too important.
The sacrifice of the Governor is too significant.
Kwara must not be sold to deception.
