Kwara PDP Celebrates Councilorship Candidates’ Victory Amidst APC’s Temporary Mandate Theft
Earlier today, Thursday 28th November, 2024, I represented the State Working Committee of the PDP in Kwara State at the Press Briefing organized by the 193 councilorship candidates of our party, at the ABS Mandate Constituency Office, Ilorin.
As I was called upon to give goodwill messages, I extended my warmest congratulations on behalf of the Party to the PDP councilorship candidates who emerged victorious in the September 21st 2024, local government election in Kwara State, despite the ruling APC’s successful but temporary stealing of their mandates. I made it known to them that, indeed, their hard work and dedication have earned them the title of ‘original councillors,’ and I couldn’t be prouder.
Again, I offered my sincerest gratitude to our party members who supported these candidates. Their tireless efforts have made the victory possible, and I urged them to continue building on the momentum. On behalf of the party, I solicited sincere collaboration from the members to work together to ensure our party remains strong and united in Kwara State.
However, I charged my fellow youths, who made up 90% of our Press Conference audience, to remain loyal to our party’s leadership and ideals, avoid divisive tendencies and focus on supporting one another rather than casting aspersions against or demarketing aspirants not preferred by them. I stressed that it’s only when the party is in power that appointments and other patronages can reach all and sundry as zero is indivisible.
While reminding them that unity is our greatest strength and it’s only when we work together that we can achieve true success, I warned that if such supporters are found wanting to hit the polity going forward, they will face the party’s disciplinary actions.
Signed:
Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode,
State Secretary,
Kwara PDP.
