Mary Lucky tips Abia Angels to dismantle Dannaz Ladies in Lagos
Abia Angels attacker, Mary Lucky has urged her teammates to sustain the momentum as they face Dannaz Ladies in Lagos today in a Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership Matchday 7 tie.
Lucky and her teammates battled hard before beating Ekiti Queens 1-0 last Wednesday in Umuahia.
Chiamaka Ojiafor’s 21st minute strike was enough to hand Abia Angels the crucial three points which has stretched their home invincibility to three wins from three games.
Lucky who has three goals from six games and was voted the Best Player of the NWFL Matchday Four told NationSport that they had to work very hard before securing the maximum points against the visitors from Ekiti and as such must stay humble to achieve their season’s objectives.
“It was a very tight home win for us but we are grateful to God that we got the three points. We have won all our three home games scoring seven and not conceding any thus far,” Lucky said.
“We are not carried away by the win and ensuring we achieve a good result in Lagos is our next target.”
With Lucky’s goals, Abia Angels are now fourth on the league table with 10 points from six games and are only two points adrift of playoffs spot presently occupied by Nasarawa Amazons.
