Prof. Ali Ahmad Congratulates Alhaji Yakubu Gobir on His Official Coronation as the 10th Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate by the Emir of Ilorin, Mai Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari

Former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and Professor of Constitutional Law, Prof. Ali Ahmad, extends his heartfelt congratulations to Alhaji Yakubu Gobir on his official coronation as the 10th Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin Emirate by Mai Martaba, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.

Prof. Ahmad describes his ascension as a historic and well-deserved recognition of his noble lineage, exemplary leadership, and unwavering dedication to the development of Ilorin Emirate. He highlights Alhaji Yakubu Gobir’s outstanding contributions in business, politics, and philanthropy, which have positively impacted countless lives across Kwara State and beyond.

“Alhaji Yakubu Gobir is not just a leader by title, but by action and service. His dedication to empowering the people, particularly through the Gobir Organization Foundation, has transformed lives in healthcare, education, and economic empowerment. His reign as Sarkin Gobir will no doubt bring even greater progress to the Ilorin Emirate,” Prof. Ahmad stated.

He further acknowledges the remarkable legacy of the Gobir family, which has produced exceptional figures in education, public service, law, and business, including Alhaji Mohammed Baba Gobir, Alhaji Ahmed Ladan Gobir, Prof. Zainab Gobir, and many others.

“With a legacy deeply rooted in excellence and service, Alhaji Yakubu Gobir is stepping into this revered position with a wealth of experience, wisdom, and a strong sense of responsibility. The Emir of Ilorin, Mai Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has once again demonstrated his deep understanding of leadership by conferring this title on a man of impeccable character and dedication. I have no doubt that Sarkin Gobir will uphold the values of the Ilorin Emirate and take the traditional institution to greater heights,” Prof. Ahmad added.

Prof. Ahmad expresses confidence that Alhaji Yakubu Gobir’s wisdom, experience, and generosity will further strengthen traditional leadership, promote social harmony, and drive development in the Ilorin Emirate.

He prays for Allah’s guidance, wisdom, and long life for the new Sarkin Gobir, wishing him a reign filled with peace, success, and fulfillment.
