Unity, Teamwork Behind Successful PDP Governorship Primary as Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Emerges Party Flagbearer

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has successfully elected Engr. Sulyman Bolakale Kawu as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.

The PDP National Electoral and Monitoring Team Chairman, who also served as the State Returning Officer for the PDP governorship primary election, Senator Duro Faseyi, commended the 8th Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for his continuous leadership wisdom, sacrifices, unwavering support, and commitment to the progress of the party in Kwara State and Nigeria at large.

He also acknowledged and appreciated the Kwara State PDP Chairman, Hon. Adamu Isa Bawa, whose dedication, strength, and tireless efforts have continued to strengthen the structure and unity of the party.

Faseyi further recognised and appreciated all party electoral officials and the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who were present to witness the successful conduct of the primary elections held across all wards of the party.

According to him, the spirit of teamwork displayed by party members contributed greatly to the success recorded during the exercise.

“You are all valued and appreciated for your commitment to the constitution of our great party and its internal democratic mechanisms. As long as we continue in unity and purpose, our great party, the PDP, will continue to grow,” he said.

He also expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship among all the aspirants, noting that their love and commitment to the party would never be forgotten.

“History will surely remember your patriotism, commitment to peace, and dedication to the stability of the party,” he added.

Faseyi further stated that the support and love shown by party members toward the PDP and its flagbearer, Engr. Sulyman Bolakale Kawu, was a clear indication that victory awaits the party in the 2027 governorship election.

He appreciated all PDP executives, stakeholders, elders, youths, women leaders, religious leaders, and supporters for their loyalty, unity, and contributions toward the success and progress of the party.

Having satisfied all constitutional requirements and secured the highest number of votes, Prof. Seyi Samuel officially announced Engr. Sulyman Bolakale Kawu as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2027 general election.

In his acceptance speech, Engr. Sulyman Bolakale Kawu thanked the 8th Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, for his consistent leadership and continued guidance, not only in Kwara State but across Nigeria.

He said that despite numerous pressures from different quarters, Saraki remained calm, steadfast, and committed to the unity and stability of the party, while praying that Allah would continue to guide him with wisdom.

The PDP governorship candidate also appreciated party leaders, stakeholders, elders, youths, women, and loyal members across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State for their support.

According to him, the victory was not his alone but a collective victory for all aspirants who invested their time, resources, energy, and political strength into the growth of the party.

He acknowledged that their sacrifices, consultations, and maturity had contributed immensely to the strength and stability of the PDP.

Kawu dedicated the victory to the people of Kwara State, whom he described as hopeful, loyal, and committed to the dream of a greater Kwara.

He assured party members and the people of the state that he would not betray the trust reposed in him and promised to dedicate himself to the service of the people and the development of the state.

He, however, noted that the task ahead remains enormous and called for continued unity and support from all stakeholders.

In his remarks, the Kwara State PDP Chairman, Hon. Adamu Isa Bawa, commended all the aspirants for their courage, dedication, and commitment to the growth of the PDP.

He prayed that their time for greater opportunities would soon come and praised them for accepting the outcome of the primary election in good faith
